Disinfo: Warsaw and Vilnius are worsening the political crisis in Belarus

Warsaw and Vilnius were the main sources of subversive activities against Belarus and against its union with Russia. The crisis is largely a man-made, and the “hands” grow from there. And now they are implementing their strategy in order to aggravate the political crisis inside Belarus.

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about Belarus and the Western attempts to instigate colour revolutions. This message is based on ungrounded claims and a false dilemma about the direction of Belarus's political development. It is consistent with recurring pro-Kremlin narratives about Western aggressiveness towards Belarus and Russia and Polish aggressive intentions in particular, and about Western attempts to disrupt Belarusian-Russian relations.

Poland and Lithuania support the independence and territorial integrity of Belarus, and do not have any territorial claims against their neighbours. Poland and Lithuania, as well as the EU, have expressed support to people protesting in Belarus.

The protests in Belarus erupted to contest the results of the presidential election in Belarus on the 9th of August, which are considered fraudulent by a large part of Belarusian society. The European Union has said that the elections were neither free nor fair: "State authorities deployed disproportionate and unacceptable violence causing at least one death and many injuries. Thousands of people were detained and the crackdown on freedoms of assembly, media and expression intensified. We call on the Belarusian authorities to release immediately and unconditionally all detained."

Poland is openly leading a coup in Belarus

Poland is openly leading a coup in Belarus. The massive protests that gripped Belarus after the presidential elections are causing concern in the West. At the same time, Polish politicians are the most active in commenting on the events in the neighbouring country. Poland initiated a discussion to overthrow Lukashenko at the EU level. On August 9, presidential elections were held in Belarus which Alexander Lukashenko won. Western countries, for which the Belarusian leader had been a hindrance for a long time, did not put up with the voting results. As a result, pre-planned riots broke out in Belarus.

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about Belarus.

Reports that Poland is allegedly "preparing a coup d'etat" in Belarus appeared after the presidents of Lithuania and Poland, in an appeal to the Belarusian authorities, called for respecting democratic standards and stopping violence and repression against participants in mass protests. On August 10, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki also initiated an emergency EU summit for August 14.

Washington, London, Brussels will create an anti-Chinese coalition in order to break China

Realising the inevitability of a Cold War with China, which is likely to include sanctions, mutual espionage, and possibly even forceful forms of confrontation, the Western expert community is looking for some magical way to defeat Beijing.

Almost all the options for “strangling the Chinese dragon” discussed in Washington, London, or Brussels presuppose the creation of some kind of broad anti-Chinese coalition in order to collectively isolate, neutralize and break China in approximately the same way that was used to successfully fight the USSR.

Conspiracy theory, unfounded statement, with no evidence to support the claim. The article refers to the UK's "D10 initiative".

Prime Minister Boris Johnson was planning to reduce Chinese telecoms equipment maker Huawei Technologies Co Ltd’s involvement in Britain’s 5G network. The UK is pursuing forming an alliance of 10 democracies to create an alternative pool of suppliers of 5G equipment and other technologies to avoid relying on China. A so-called 'D10', or 5G club of democratic partners, will be including G7 countries – UK, US, Italy, Germany, France, Japan, and Canada – plus Australia, South Korea, and India.

“Lublin Triangle” – the organiser of the coup in Belarus

The “Lublin Triangle” – the organiser of the coup in Belarus. This seemingly harmless organisation is trying to become an instrument of external management of interesting “Maidan” processes in Belarus.

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about Belarus.

The Lublin Triangle has nothing to do with the mass protests in Belarus: hundreds of thousands of Belarusians have been protesting against a massive vote-rigging and police violence since 9 August 2020. On 16 August 2020 Belarus witnessed the largest rallies in the city of Minsk and dozens smaller towns and localities in its history.
