Disinfo: The anti-Orthodox policy of Montenegro’s authorities is inspired by the US

Summary

The anti-orthodox policy of Montenegro’s authorities is inspired by the United States.

Disproof

Conspiracy theory; no evidence given. This claim involves the recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative that the West threatens and undermines traditional Christian values. Related cases where the US is accused of attacking traditional values in Europe via "sects" can be found herehere, and here.

Greta Thunberg is part of a scheme to enrich a handful of financial giants

Featured speaker [at the World Economic Forum in Davos] was the young Swedish activist Greta Thunberg. What few realize is how carefully all this is being orchestrated to prepare a massive shift in global capital flows where a handful of financial giants stand to gain.

Disproof

This claim is a conspiracy theory, and a recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about international youth protests started by the Swedish activist Greta Thunberg.

This is also a recurring disinformation narrative about the West exploiting the environmental agenda and climate change topic to do harm to Russia, and that global warming is a "hoax" perpetrated by special interest groups like green businesses that stand to benefit from the climate hysteria. In fact, the existence of anthropogenic climate change is a matter of scientific consensus. Only a tiny minority of scientists dispute this consensus: the Earth is warming through the greenhouse effect; human activities - including use of fossil fuels, cutting down rain-forests, and farming livestock - are a major cause of the warming; and, unchecked, this rapid warming presents significant risks to human communities and natural systems. Preventing dangerous consequences of climate change is a key priority for the EU.

Canada is not an independent state, but an obedient puppet of the US

Canada is always obediently walking alongside Washington’s “master” like a pocket dog. It supports America in the most unbelievable adventures. Canada suddenly got excited and started barking at the White House. Canada is not an independent state. The whole of Canada is the obedient puppet of the United States. And suddenly, the “slave revolt.” On January 15, Trudeau made a sensational statement: “The United States and Iran are equally to blame for the tragedy with Ukrainian Boeing.”
Disproof

This is a recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about Western countries, Canada in particular, as US vassal states. Pro-Kremlin outlets often use this narrative of different countries being under the American thumb to imply that their national sovereignty is under threat and that they have limited power. It is also often used to drive wedges and foment tension between allies.

Canada, like the US, is a sovereign country and makes sovereign decisions about its own security and politics. More about US-Canada relations can be read here and here.

Poland presents a different history of WWII and ignores facts presented by new documents

In honour of the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Warsaw, documents were published that no one had ever seen. They shed light on the events that happened during the occupation of Poland, even though there was no Poland then, it was a part of the Third Reich. Today in Poland they prefer not to remember this. They present a different [version of] history. In every way, they ignore many facts.

Disproof

This message is part of the Kremlin’s policy of historical revisionism. It accuses Poland of falsification and re-writing of history. According to this policy, the official Russian historiography is the only “true” way of interpreting the historical events of the countries of Eastern and Central Europe.

On January 9th, the Polish parliament adopted a resolution “condemning the provocative and untrue statements by representatives of the highest authorities of the Russian Federation attempting to hold Poland liable for the Second World War.” In December 2019, Polish Prime Minister issued a statement about false pro-Kremlin narratives attacking Poland - see here.
