Disinfo: Western liberalism uses feminism to destroy traditional values around the world

Far from being libertarian, the roots of Western liberalism were, and still are, hegemonic, dogmatic, intolerant, and violent. From the time of the so-called “Enlightenment”, the arrogant new religion of liberalism has set out to conquer the world, seeking to replace traditional values and cultures with so-called “Western values” using soft power as well as hard power (regime-change, sanctions, etc.). Feminism – pitting women against the culture of their ancestors – is the most important tool used by Western liberalism to dismantle and destroy traditions and hierarchies around the world.

Conspiracy theory presented without any supporting evidence. The article contains gender stereotypes and the recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative portraying the West as a decadent and immoral society that destroys traditional values and is breaking down under the weight of feminism and LGBT culture. This article also contains the recurrent pro-Kremlin narrative that Western liberalism seeks to impose the West’s decadent culture and model of society on the rest of the world.

Furthermore, the article’s message is consistent with the recurring pro-Kremlin narrative claiming that Western liberalism is, in reality, a totalitarian ideology that has been imposed upon the people by élites and does not tolerate any alternative points of view.

It is not true, as the article claims, that liberalism is “dogmatic, intolerant, and violent”. The central values and achievements of Western liberal societies - liberal democracy, the rule of law, human rights, equality before the law, freedom of conscience and expression, rationalism, self-criticism, the disinterested search for truth, the separation of church and state – are the opposite of dogmatism, intolerance and violent models of behaviour.

Feminism is the belief in social, economic, and political equality of the sexes. It is not the result of a Western conspiracy to destroy traditional values in non-Western societies, as the article suggests. Although largely originating in the West, feminism is manifested worldwide and is represented by various institutions committed to activity on behalf of women’s rights and interests.

The EU advances gender equality between women and men as a fundamental human right. Read further debunking of myths on feminism such as “Feminists are trying to be men” and “Women are trying to take the place of men” here.

Read similar cases claiming that feminist and gender theories are used by the West to undermine the cultures and the governments of countries based on traditional patriarchal values and that Europe brings totalitarian femininism to Belarus, which is destructive of society’s values.

Navalny is just a tool, not a real opposition leader

Alexei Navalny is not an opponent in the political sense, he does not want changes in the country, he is just a foreign tool to change power in Russia. And he is looking for a revolution like the one that took place in Kyiv, Ukraine.

Navalny is a western project. He has some connection with foreign intelligence and it is difficult to understand the role he plays. Do they use him according to some agreements? Yes. Navalny found his desire long ago when he studied abroad, and from that time has been an interest in Western society, which was pushing opposition forces in Russia. Therefore, there is talk about him and a call for his release from detention.

Navalny isn’t really an opposition leader but he just wants to have a sit and talk with [Russia President Vladimir] Putin, thus trying to raise himself to Putin’s level.

Disinformation built around the concept of ubiquitous Russophobia and anti-Russian provocations by Western countries to encircle and destabilise Russia and Russian opposition figure Alexey Navalny.

Alexei Navalny is a founder and leader of the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK), which has investigated embezzlement from the state budget, uncovered the lives of Russian politicians and businessmen close to the government and different corruption practices. FBK's goal is to eliminate corruption.

US censor people on the internet while Russia doesn’t

It is the United States that blocks social media, and prevent its politicians and citizens from accessing it, the same can be seen toward Russian politicians and citizens trying to access these social networks.

Meanwhile, the Russian authorities are quite the opposite. It adheres to democratic standards and no one is blocked. Neither on VKontakte nor on Odnoklassniki.

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about censorship in the West, portraying Russia as protector of freedom of speech and the press.

According to the 2020 World Press Freedom Index, Russia is in 149th place out of 180 countries. And Reporters Without Borders noted pressure on the independent media, blocking websites, and draconian laws became even more severe in the last years.

EU sanctions against Russia are illegal

Everyone knows our attitude to sanctions. Firstly, they are an illegal tool. Secondly, they are a tool that is contrary to the interests of the European Union. I think that this awareness is now coming to many European countries.

This is a recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about EU sanctions against Russia.

The EU sanctions against Russia are not illegal. They were adopted as a reaction to the annexation of Crimea in 2014 and the deliberate destabilisation of Ukraine. The EU imposed sanctions against the Russian individuals involved in the conflict adding them to the list of people and entities who have been hit with sanctions for undermining the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
