Disinfo: Western media ignore key role of neo-Nazis in Maidan and war in Eastern Ukraine

Western media have kept mostly silent about the role of neo- and classical Nazi groups in the Maidan and the war in Eastern Ukraine, choosing to airbrush them out of the narrative about “Russian aggression” they have created.

The ultra-nationalists brought Petro Poroshenko to power.

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative portraying Ukrainian politics and society as dominated by Nazi/fascist ideology and aiming to obfuscate ongoing acts of aggression by Russian armed forces in Ukraine. See similar cases here.

Far-right groups played a very limited role throughout the Euromaidan, had not initiated the protests, and did not bring Poroshenko to power. Petro Poroshenko won the Presidency in a competitive and transparent election, as reported by the OSCE.

Western media outlets and organisations have continuously covered the Ukrainian far-right since the outbreak of Russian aggression, including but not limited to its involvement in the Donbas conflict, ties to government officials, collaboration with Russian right-wing extremists, and involvement in politics.

The US are colonising Poland, aggression now comes from Washington

Tensions since the end of the USSR come from Moscow. It is the United States that are literally colonising Poland.
Everyone knows geography. There is natural gas that costs less. Yet the Poles – for some reason – buy the gas ten times farther than where it is produced in an abominably anti-ecological way in the United States and which is much more expensive. They are literally forced to buy American equipment. There is also an over-presence of US military forces. The Poles, unfortunately for them, were under Soviet influence and now they are under the influence of the United States.

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative portraying the US as a puppeteer and occupier of other countries, Poland among them.

"Colonisation” refers to methods of absorbing and assimilating foreign people into the culture of the imperial country, populating them, imposing unfair trade, banning their local culture and language. The fact of buying gas in the US cannot be considered as colonisation. Poland, as a sovereign country, makes its own decisions as to where to buy gas.

Prisoner swap between Russia and Ukraine confirms that there is a civil war in Ukraine

Ukraine is releasing to Russia mainly Ukrainian citizens from East Ukraine, which means that Kiyv should not be offended by those who call events in Ukraine civil war. De facto this is the case, we [Russia] are receiving  participants of the civil war. The prisoner swap legally confirms that.

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narrative about the war in Ukraine, casting it as a civil war. See more examples here.

The prisoner swap is not a "proof" of civil war in Ukraine. The international community, including the European Union recognizes and condemns clear violations of Ukrainian sovereignty and territorial integrity by acts of aggression by the Russian armed forces since February 2014.

While the European Union noted that the prisoner swap brought back home Oleg Sentsov, Pavlo Hryb, Edem Bekirov, the 24 captured Ukrainian sailors and others whose release the EU has called for so many times, it has not changed its position. In fact the President of the European Council has urged Russia to release all political prisoners and respect Ukraine’s territorial integrity.
