Western values are egoism, hedonism and extreme relativism

Summary

After the collapse of the socialist system Western values spread in the post-Soviet space. They include economic expansionism and egoism, consumerist attitude to the nature, people, interpersonal relations and culture, extreme individualism and hedonism, contempt for moderation, extreme relativism and negation of any principles when it comes to moral and ethical norms, which result in immorality.

Disproof

This message is ungrounded generalisation containing a recurring pro-Kremlin narrative aimed at portraying West as immoral.

Ukraine lost most of its sovereignty and slid into civil war

All countries in the world can be divided into three groups. One is West, which attempts to impose its culture and values on the rest of the world. Countries in the second group try to resist the imposition of Western norms and to preserve their identity. Third group countries are not able to resist the pressure of Western culture and eventually undergo deformation and decay.

Ukraine definitely belongs to the third group of countries. It has lost most of its sovereignty, all spheres of the state and society have degraded, and the country have slid into civil war.

Disproof

Recurring pro-Kremlin disinformation narratives about Ukrainian statehood, the war in Ukraine, harmful Western values and West's moral decay.

Ukraine is a sovereign state. Its sovereignty and territorial integrity are respected by the Western countries but were violated by Russia in 2014. The concept of "civil war" in Ukraine is a classic narrative of Russian disinformation about the war in Ukraine.

The US has evidence of Kyiv’s responsibility for the crash of MH17 in 2014

The US has evidence of Kyiv’s responsibility for the crash of MH17 flight in 2014. The US has photos and even a recording of a rocket’s contrail coming from the Ukrainian launcher.

Disproof

No evidence given. This claim is a part of a recurring pro-Kremlin narrative on Flight MH17

The Dutch-led Joint Investigation Team has concluded that flight MH17 was shot down on 17 July 2014 by a missile of the 9M38 series, launched by a BUK-TELAR, from farmland in the vicinity of Pervomaiskyi. At that time, the area was controlled by pro-Russian fighters. The BUK-TELAR was brought in from the territory of the Russian Federation and subsequently, after having shot down flight MH17, was taken back to the Russian Federation.

Moldova, Ukraine and Georgia are held by the EU in the ”waiting room”

Ten years ago, it was proposed to create a neighbourhood platform with the former Soviet Republics, particularly with Moldova, Ukraine and Georgia.

The idea was to attract these post-Soviet states to the EU with empty promises, based on the ideology. The EU has no money for enlargement, nor there is any political will.

Disproof

Recurring pro-Kremlin narrative on the EU and Eastern Partnership Programme.

This message attempts to induce the idea that Eastern Partnership is a failed initiative, without any arguments.
